Jerome began as a booming mining town in the late 19th century, known for its abundant copper deposits. At its peak, Jerome was home to over 15,000 residents and was one of the largest towns in Arizona.
The Valley is named after the Verde River, which flows through it. The word "verde" means green in spanish, a nod to the lush vegetation that thrives along the riverbanks. Verde Valley has emerged as a premier wine-producing region in Arizona, with several vineyards and wineries dotting the landscape. the area's high elevation, volcanic soil and sunny climate provide ideal conditions for growing grapes.

To get to Cottonwood Springs RV Resort in Cottonwood, AZ from the town's center, head northeast on AZ-89A N toward N Main St. Then, turn left onto E Cottonwood St. After about half a mile, turn right onto N 7th St, and you'll find the resort on your left.
